A side-loader is a specialised truck equipped with a hydraulic lifting system that picks up and drops off containers from the side – not the rear. This allows it to operate in tight spaces where standard rigid trucks can't reverse or turn. The driver positions the truck alongside the container, lifts it using hydraulic arms, and secures it onto the chassis for transport.
